I love the gopro and i agree with you.The problem is when you are chartering and doing two trips a day your exhausted.When i was doing it i wanted to get some rest and getting up at 4am everyday will kick your butt lolIt don't get no better when get past 65

I hear ya captain, rendering the footage is a bitch...I've done some cooking videos and even the footage from my dashcam can be extremely time consuming to edit/upload etc.

Since you're on a boat you can keep the gopros powered indefinitely, and use large capacity SD cards so storage isn't an issue. I'm thinking that mounting 1 or 2 on the boat to capture the action hands-free would be a set-it-and-forget-it solution.
