Default TBT - old smallie pic

20" Delaware R smallmouth circa 1995(actaully 19.5"). I'm struck by how even back then I was concerned about the fish. I actually carried around Saran Wrap to put under the fish so as to not get sand or dirt on it. No joke and this picture is proof. I didn't - however - plan on the fish being bigger than the wrap. lol. Anyway this explains why I sometimes get a bit perturbed seeing fish covered in mud, sticks, leaves, dirt, sand, etc. Old but true saying: a fish is too precious to be caught only once.

MAN I LOVE SMALLIES, pound for pound the best freshwater NO.AM fighter.
Sweet fish, great catch!!!

Have yet to catch one this season but plan on working on that this Sunday when I take a friend's kids out for crappie & pan fish.

Check this double header my bro hooked up with from Clinton. He was just thrown in the towel after getting skunked all day. I told him to tie on that GOLD crack back RAP as we trolled in & BAM they crushed it....looked like a his & his dinner for two! He has been throwing a gold crack back since & killin' it!.

.

In my experience, Smallmouth Bass are the hardest fighting fish in freshwater - and they jump!

Some people think Hybrid Striped bass are the strongest fighters, but they really just fight similarly to a Smallmouth, and they rarely jump.

LANDLOCKs are pretty awesome aerial fighters as well but lack the brute strength, stamina & attitude of a smallie.

I love smallies too, they are very acrobatic and fight well, but theres no way anyone can say they are tougher than a hybrid. Smallies head shake alot and run very scattered while bringing them in, but hybrids just straight up pull drag and dig in like freight trains. there is nothing in freshwater pound for pound that pulls like a hybrid, the 5-6lb fish fight the hardest of them all

Anything that is a hybrid usually has a bad ass temperament (except for maybe a PRIUS but that is another rant on bad ideas that sound really good in theory). Tiger muskies are usually prick bastards that try to throw the hook into your flesh at every turn.

I can't to get to the big H & get after'em soon. Heard that there some absolute beasts in WANAQUE.....ssshhhh, they may also be in SKUNKY as I hear from the local JW's. Not like I have any photographic evidence or do I...
