Pike-a-thon 3, 2015!!! 6/27-7/5!!!

Well I went out on my kayak for the first time today and of course for the pikeathon. Only got one pike. Did not want to measure it because I didnt feel like it was contest worthy. But it gave a good fight and here's the pic. Prob 25-27 inches.

Nice fish so far guys! Again, thank you for joining the contest!

I fished 2 spots so far today and just got home to dry out a bit. Spot one I fished from 9 to 11 or so landing 4 Pike over 30 inches but losing a 35 inch or better fish when it spit the hook, darn! The fish was pretty fat but she got away.

Spot 2 produced 3 more Pike 30 inches or better but again another big fish lost. It was my last cast of the afternoon and BOOM, I get railed. I see the flash in the water and its a pretty long fish, longer than the fish from spot 1. All of the sudden it feels like my line hits something and POOF, the Pike is gone, GRRRRRRRRRRRR!!! Cant land every fish I guess. Pretty good day of catching despite the cooler temps and annoying rain. 7 pike landed for the day. Heres a couple of the 30 inchers from today.

Got out for a bit this morning. Had a lot of action, but all small fish. Had one fish in the mid 30's hooked up, but as luck would have it, it was the only fish I lost haha. Anyway, since this is my first pike tournament, just for fun here is one 20" fish.

Good catch buddy! Glad to see that guys are remembering the mystery item, lol! Like my buddy Jeremy said, you have to stay hydrated when your out there. Im happy to see guys catching some fish the first day of the contest. Lets load this thread up with pics guys. FISH PORN!!! EYE CANDY!!!

Not a great start but a couple fish landed. 30 minutes in and had a follow to the kayak. Figure 8 tricked him and he was in the kayak a couple minutes later. Solid 35 inch fish.........camera mount doesn't work. ..plan B...Camera phone. .can't swipe to camera with wet fingers. ..pike jumps out Of kayak.

After that, landed a 28 inch pike and then a 20 inch. Pictures to follow.

On the way in, played around with a 36 inch fish that didn't want to play nice.

Glad to hear you found your toothy friends after a rough week locating them. Fishing for Pike from the Yak can be a task when your alone. Sounds like a few of us lost a good fish yesterday. Stay on there trail buddy! See you out there!
