A good snell will allow u to land big tough fish whereas a simple knot may weaken under the pressure ! It will not move so abrasion on hook eye eliminated .

That's the way I do it. Only problem is if your line is already attached to something you can't use it. Also someone mentioned it's hard getting your line back through the eye. If you cut your line at a 45 degree angle it will have a point making it much easier to push through.

That snell actually is a nail knot , used by many fly anglers to attach a leader to fly lines. This can be accomplished w/ o tube as well !!

I've been Snelling with the power snell knot. It's pretty easy and strong plus it protects the line from wearing down on the hook eye weld/ connection

I use this snell sometimes works fine for snelling a hook to a leader already attached to something when you can't access the tail end.

Tried tying them the other day and drove myself nuts... I just couldn't get the line to lay right when snugging up the coils... There was a cross pattern on the outside of the coils too. Gave up after an hour lol...

i use it with the heavy leader as sometimes the eyes to small to slide 65lb leader through twice

the easiest fastest snell in the world: you take the hook hold it at the bend pointed up, pass the line through the eye towards where you're holding it and pinch it with the hook. wrap it up how ever many times you can depending on the line/hook size. then just pass the tag end through the little loop you're pinching with the hook. wet it and snug it up pulling tag and standing ends slowly.

it's hands down the easiest and quickest snell, but definitely not the strongest, not even close. I use it to snell octopus hooks for whacky rigging senkos for largemouth bass and it gets the job done if you need a quick snell (good for bent eye hooks to keep the force of the hook set in line with the hook shank and gives it a little pivot to increase hook up ratio.

i'm sorry i can't find a picture or video of this snell so i hope the explanation is enough, real easy once you see it.
