![]() Part-Time Seasonal Clerical Position, Freshwater Fisheries
Date: December, 2014 - June 30, 2015, 14 - 21 hours (2-3 days) per week. Position limited to no more than 900 hours worked per fiscal year (July 1 to June 30). Position may be extended after July 1, 2015. Location: Lebanon Fisheries Office, Hunterdon County General Description: Quiet, small office setting with nine full-time staff. Office serves as northern field location for Freshwater Fisheries Biologists, Wildlife Toxicologist, and Environmental Review Biologist. During summer months seasonal staff increases total staff to fifteen. Office is open to the general public, but visitation is low. Duties: Provide clerical support to professional staff. Respond to and direct inquiries, via phone and e-mail, take messages and relay information as needed to professional staff. Process a variety of permit applications, and track application processing in accordance to established procedures. Prepare purchasing documents and submit invoices for payment. Provide required follow-up as needed. Compile information for monthly and annual reports and for other Bureau activities. Enter time sheets, vehicle mileage information, and perform additional record keeping. File documents, permits, reports, etc., and maintain filing system. Periodic opportunities to assist biologists with field sampling may be offered to those interested. Qualifications:Applicants must be 18 years old or older with ability to read, write, speak, understand, or communicate in English sufficiently, including the ability to communicate effectively and courteously with the fishing and hunting public. Experience with MS Office software (WORD, EXCEL, and ACCESS) and with sending and receiving e-mails required. Applicants with familiarity with freshwater fishing opportunities and general rules and regulations pertaining to freshwater fishing in New Jersey will be given preference provided they also meet qualifications above.
