The conditions around Battery Park where the two rivers merge is usually pretty rough due to all the ferry traffic. Once you get north of the Holland Tunnel, sea conditions tend to improve. By the time you reach the Intrepid Sea Museum, it should be pretty calm. If you can time your trip and travel with the incoming and outgoing tides it will make the trip a little easier. Not sure what size boat you have but those ferries tend to create large wakes. Enjoy your trip. It will be worth the ride.

Thx again guys for all the help we want up to the Statue of Liberty
and turned around it was a nice ride. We want fishing after that for some fluke it was a slow day till the end last drift the wife got a 6.5 lb. 25-1/2" fluke me and my son got a keeper each.
