![]() Hey guys, me and my buddy headed to Pompton Lake with a mission. To land my very first catfish. I did a little research and found cat fish like the deeper "channels".
Since we don't have a depth finder I took a stab at it and guessed that the area near the bridge by the island, that had little to no weeds would have the most current, therefore the deepest channel. I don't know if all that's true or not but we found the catfish within 5 minutes of dropping lines!! We caught 5 small bullheads altogether on live medium shiners and very dead chicken livers ![]() P.S. - Sorry for the crappy photos !! |

Nice Yellow Bullheads. Those are good eating, too. I learned the hard way not to put my fingers in their mouth. Those Bullheads have surprisingly powerful jaws. .
