x3 on the Penn Battle for the money. I prefer the 4000 for bucktailing if you are going to go into the 2-4 oz range. I have mine loaded with 20 lb braid and it serves as a mahi reel for pot hopping as well.

Daiwa BG 13 or 15. Tough as nails and should be @$100-110.

X4 on the Penn Battle. I have a couple of 3000 on medium action Tsunami rods that work the jigs perfectly when there is no current/drift. Not a bad reel for under $100.

Penn Battle 4000 - just pickedd mine up and used it today on a party boat - Angler - they also have 1000,2000 and 3000's depending on the size you are looking for - great drag and handled a really big skate with no problems

The Shimano reel to get at that price point is the Saros 4000. The Penn Battle is nice but if weight isn't an issue the Spinfisher V3500 could be considered.
