Default Shenandoah

Busted out the boat today for the first time this year! 12' Grumman with 1.0 human power. Swivel seats make it a little more comfortable for those longer days, and that little mushroom anchor sure can hold.

Three friends and I hit the lake about 4 PM, with two on the shoreline and two in the boat we were able to cover a lot of territory. The wind was pretty stiff all day so it had to be the evening bite for us. This worked out well as it really laid down about 5 or so. We worked small Rapala floating minnows, some spinners, two fat rap deep divers, one of which yielded a 20" pickerel who gave us an aerial display. And pickerel was the theme too, but not until the sun was getting pretty low, 7 PM or so. I managed two more of the little rockets with my partner in the boat also reeling in three. No camera on the boat this time...next time. Also tried some spinnerbaits and jigs with no response.

Our friends on the shore had a little luck right at the end with two more pickerel landed. Perhaps next time we'll bring the canoe too! I've been fishing this lake exclusively so far this week, and I am not disappointed. The lure of other waters is however strong, so more to come!

I've attached a few pictures of my previous trips. Also my included a few shots of my gear.
