Tony Majas rods are perfect for spoonin' , they have a
Good taper for pullin spoons . I had custom rods built about 15 years ago & proved to be al Ost exactly like Ztonys rods! I've had over forty years into dpoonin' & taper is very important especially on smaller boats that are slowed by swells !

A pair of good rods and reels will go between $700-900. You should compare carefully

Thanks folks for all the good suggestions. Went to expo today and I ended up buying Tony Maja spoon rods and paired them with tekota 700LC (line counter) reels. Spooled up with 80lb braid and a 15ft mono @ end. Got some other "stuff" from expo. I'm ready for Stripers;-)
