Re: Senko technique?
I've been using senkos and the offshoot 6" finesse/trick worms with the bulbous tails with great results. I've caught lot of bass in the 2 LBS + category on them and they catch fish when nothing else seems to.
I prefer weightless Texas-rigging them on a 4/0 Gamakatsu EWG hook using a baitcaster set-up with 10 LB fluoro line. Hook setting is really easy on that set-up.
I keep a spinning set-up with 10 LB mono always rigged with one wacky-style on a 1/0 Gamakatsu Finesse wide gap hook that I'll throw out to the same spot where I get a good bump on the line but no hook-up to increase my chances of setting the hook with the point being exposed for a tentative biter.
For wacky rigging I use the o-rings which work great, the worms hold up better to being numerous casts than they do just hooking into the middle of them
They're a great lure and as someone mentioned pretty much idiot-proof My son when he was 4 caught his first LMB on a 4' wacky-rigged senko down in Florida which was a great thrill for him.
