What a heart-warming story + photos !! I have great memories of taking my son & daughter to Turkey Swamp where they battled the same snapping turtle that you guys tangled with.

If you or Adam want to wrassle some HUGE channel cats, checkout Molder's on Rte 527 North in old Bridge. They charge admission, but all fish except trout are catch & release.

Also, your young sharpies are priceless !! Enjoy the memories, they grow up too quick !! It won't be long before they're taking you on excursions - - last year on my birthday, my oldest treated me to Furthur at Coney Island (after we fished all day on the RFA Fishermen Fluk-a-thon).

May the four winds bring you safely home !

That is great!!! I love taking my kids fishing and watching them catch fish. I get more joy watching them catch fish, then i do catching them myself.

It makes me proud to know that my kids and I are now "carrying the torch" & keeping this tradition alive.

What an awesome story ... you are extemely lucky to have that kind of bond with your children and to be able to share the same passions & music.

Are you going to Holmdel or Philly for the Furthu shows on 7/23 & 7/24 this Summer? If so, I would love to hook-up with you before the show for a couple of adult beverages!

helped this guy across the road last year in far hills, people were almost hitting him. he went about 25lbs and I kept far away from his business end! found out afterwards you're not supposed to pick them up by the tail but his was as thick as a baseball bat.
