the asmfc got us again!one weakfish is just great.maybe they can time the fluke closing next summer so there is only one or two bottom species to fish for.after that they will say we over fished the bottom species and close them down also!the gill netters who kill everything will have weakfish floating for miles.but of course they have to make a living!!!
BS take some money from the fishing license and buy them out .there are not millions of them.slowly but surely restrictions are killing the for hire industry. when we start the season in april what will we fish for? they already hit the winter flounder.just weakfish and winter flounder are enough to put you out of business.ten or so charters in april is a big help when you start up.a large area we have fished for ever is in n.y. waters.the limit on fluke is 2 at 21 in.,so we stay out of n.y. waters most of the time. all of these things hurt.this cuts the local fishing grounds in half! we need a break!the blackfish have been biting great! problem is you can only keep one! monday it goes to six.for you guys that have to ''work'' monday to friday to make a living it leaves you saturday and sunday to blackfish. not everyone has a big boat. how many trips will you do this fall blackfish? the weather will tell you how many trips you will get in during our ''long '' season of six weeks! i am sure they are going to say it was over fished. i guess i won't be making any trips to the 80 mile seabass wrecks this winter with my 30 foot boat.what a joke! ![]()
