Started my long week by visiting PA for some trout, but the trout streams i normally wack nice browns in just had SMBs and some dumb stocked rainbows.
Rather than stay here, i explored better tailwater creek to the susq river and did really well with SMB in terms of numbers. I might try and do more trips up here at least as small detours when i go back to NY.
I landed in NY and met with Nick for some gar fishing, cool stuff, pretty easy the fish are kind of dumb but not as aggressive as you'd think.
Fun new fish!
The highlight was the night fishing; channel cats, one up to 40 inches caught by Nick's friend who doesnt fish much.
Back in NJ yesterday, did some SMB fishing afterwork. I guess some storms last night made the water DIRTY and a bit higher than normal. I ended up finding plenty of SMB in the smaller trib/creeks. Comfortable wet wading even on the cooler day. Hope y'all get wet out there soon. Gonna try more night fishing too
