thankfully i was off work after christmas and able to take advantage of the short lived ice season so far. headed out monday, tuesday, and wednesday to get my fix, knowing that it would soon all melt unfortunately.
Day 1: i got to dow's only to find they had no shiners! so off we went with just bugs as bait and jigging rods and jawjackers. We ended up jigging almost all the fish without much action on the bug loaded jaw jackers. plenty of fatty eater perch and a few muntant chunk sunfish... one might even be a hybrid.
Day 2: we were able to find bait at sporting life thankfully and set up shop with the traps. lights out fishing this day, i couldn't even get all the tip ups in and quickly just gave up trying to haha. all the perch, pickerel, and crappie you could want, but oddly no bass
Day 3: was much slower but still some action including some sweet slabs after dark. all in all a great little stint of ice and maybe we'll get a round two or else i guess i'll have to visit nick in upstate ny hahaha
