Default 3/9/22 Greenwood Lake Launch UPDATE; GOOD NEWS

Hey everyone hope all is well and you all are healthy. At present, we have 1,974 signatures on our online petition. If you have not signed the petition calling for the installation of a public boat launch on Greenwood Lake, here is the link:

https://chng.it/5fgDmzPXT7

THIS IS GOING TO HAPPEN!!! We have reached out to Senator Vin Gopal and asked if he would sign on as a democratic sponsor to bill S-987. I received a phone call from his aide yesterday who told me that Senator Gopal WOULD sign on as a primary sponsor to the bill.

What you could do: Drop Senator Gopal an email thanking him for signing on to Bill S -987: sengopal@njleg.org

We could also use Senator Nilsa Cruz-Perez's help for bipartisan support. (We found out she enjoys and has an interest in the outdoors and has a son who likes to fish). PLEASE GIVE HER OFFICE A CALL: 856-541-1251 231-L MARKET STREET, CAMDEN NJ 08102......WHEN CALLING, PLEASE BE CIVIL AND POINT OUT THAT VIN GOPAL IS ON BOARD AND THAT CRUZ-PEREZ'S SUPPORT IS ESSENTIAL TO HELPING FISHERMEN IN HER DISTRICT AS THE BILL HAS PROVISIONS FOR ACCESS TO ALL NJ LAKES.

YOU CAN ALSO DO THE SAME FOR : SENATOR JOSEPH LAGANA 201-576-9199 AND ASSEMBLYWOMAN PAMELA LAMPITT 856-435-1247.

The squeaky wheel gets the grease!

As stated in a previous thread: the NJ Outdoor Alliance will be hosting a Wild Game Dinner March 20, 2022 @ 4:00 PM at The Black Forest Inn, 249 Hwy 206, Stanhope, NJ 07874. Senator Bob Smith, chair of the Senate Environment and Energy Committee will be in attendance. Our "lake access bill", S987, is currently in this committeee. This will give us the avenue for meeting with our local legislators to discuss fish and wildlife issues. YOU HAVE SKIN IN THE GAME

If interested, you can contact Arnie Ulrich of NJOA @ 201-304-4691 kavester@aol.com for tickets ($100). We need to do whatever we can by being pro-active to ensure access on all NJ public lakes so please consider attending.

In a previous update thread I listed the members of the Senate Environment and Energy Committee and the Assembly Environment and Solid Waste Committee (here bill is known as A-1047) and their contact information. Our bill is in both of these committees as we speak. It is therefore also important to reach out to each committee member and express your support as requested previously.

Please if you can....take a few moments and make a few calls. Greenwood is the example....but the bill provides access provisions for ALL NJ public lakes....a lake in your district perhaps????

Thank you for your support, input, efforts. THIS RAMP IS GOING TO HAPPEN BECAUSE OF ALL THE HARD WORK FROM ALL OF US. But, we can't stop here....we need to keep pushing until the bill gets to the governor.

Will continue to keep everyone posted. GREENWOOD TODAY....YOUR LAKE TOMORROW.....AND IT IS HAPPENING.....HAVE A LIST OF AT LEAST 14 OTHER AREAS IN NJ WHERE ACCESS PROBLEMS ARE OCCURRING.

UFANJ
