Went down to Virginia for some open water and brought the cold north with us. Headed out Sunday and drove right into the snow storm. We drove 7 hours without incidence, until we were 10 minutes away. The road curves but the ice and us kept going straight. We blasted off the road into a ditch and got stuck on the side of a country road in western Virginia. Fortunately, the folks down here are just as great as the fishing. A gentleman who was passing by stopped and hooked us up to some chains and pulled us out. We were ok, the truck was ok and we rewarded this angel of a man for his troubles with some dead presidents. Today was cold with 40 mph winds. Through frozen eyes and frozen worm gears we grinded it out. My buddy struck pay dirt with his first Musky ever and a beauty at that!! We went hours without any action. The cold and fatigue were really setting in. Our guide told us 30 mins more and we were gonna head back. Then at the 25th hour the fishing gods threw me a bone. My first Virginia Muskie. Good fishing time with a good friend.
