Thumbs up Variety on the Jig! Weekend report! 11/14,15

Hit the pond yesterday and met up with Mikey. Tried to get the Hybrids going but they seemed to have lock jaw for whatever reason. Put the Hybrid rods away and started jigging. Got slammed by a little Hybrid off a point in 30 feet of water. Fun fight on the ultra lite. Moved on to the next point and had drop and reel Crappie to 15 inches! The bite went on for about 90 minutes with a mix of big Bluegills in the mix. Probably boated 30 keeper Crappie off that one hump in 25 feet of water. Wanted to get into some Walleye so decided to change venues to and see if I could get out of the wind as well. Drove up to Monksville to fish the magic hour. Wind wasn’t very nice here either but you gotta roll with it if you want to catch fish. First drop 40 feet down I got hit. It feels small but it wasn’t that small for a yellow Perch. Tasty little guy was about 14 inches and had friends. Landed about 10 keeper sized Perch and had to move on as it was just about Walleye time. Wiggled over to the drop off and casted up hill with the blade bait. Bounced it down and pulled 3 Walleye to 21 inches out of the deep! 2 keepers, 1 short. Not many large fish on a beautiful blustery Saturday but a really good mixed bag of tasty sweet water treats. The action with the Crappie and Perch was definitely a good time.

Played with the Rainbows this morning on the Musky. The water level is primo compared to other nearby rivers. The North and South Branch are terribly low. Pohatcong creek is super dry as well. Leaves are still a bit of an issue out there so I broke out the Outofline jig in black and olive. It did all the damage as expected. Whacked 9-10 Rainbows and called it quits. Pretty good fall action overall. Hoping to stay on the fish now that my sons Baseball season is finally over. It was a long one! Sheesh! These 10-11 year olds are like baseball marines. It takes up a lot of time but we have to do it! Now back to FISHING!!! TIGHT LINEZ!
