Back in early June, I had to cancel my annual camping/fishing trip up to the Adirondacks because the campsite was closed due to Covid. Despite cancelling the trip, I decided to take the time off and fish locally. I started off the weekend by hopping in the canoe with Chris and hitting the water for some pike. I was talking to him about how I love my side imaging when I see a huge mark appear on the screen off the back right side of the boat. I turn to Chris and tell him where I saw the fish and to cast at it, but he said I should go for it. I cast out and reel in until the lure is about 10 feet away from the boat, and I pause it. I turn to Chris and start to say that I think the fish swam away, but before I finish the sentence, I twitch the bait, and we watch a fish appear out of the murky water and completely inhale the bait.
On Sunday, I headed out on a float in search of smallmouth with Luke. We managed to get a few dink smallies, but the highlight of the float was landing this carp on a jig.
The next day, Luke and I went back to the river in search of pike. We had an awesome day catching multiple pickerel, bass, crappie and a few pike too.
On Tuesday, Luke and I headed out for Lakers, and I managed to catch a big girl among a few others.
