Default Streams and Swamps

I went out looking for wild browns early last week. The first spot I hit up I had decent success at, managing to catch a few smaller browns from under a small waterfall and got one decent one (first pic). I decided to switch it up and explore a new stretch of river. It was tough wading, but I wound up having an awesome day catching about a dozen browns and smallies each from the same stretch.

I took my sister out to one of my favorite spots back in the swamp and we absolutely crushed the crappie and bass. She accused me of cheating cause I took complete advantage of my new toy – Helix 7 with side imaging. We were marking them cruising in 15 feet of water, and I’d tell her where to cast. It was pretty much a fish every cast, and we managed around 30 fish between the two of us over the course of the two hours we were fishing. Two biggest are pictured below.

We did so well that she wanted to go back out the next day. Went back out and caught crappie to 14" plus some nice bass.

Went back out with Luke over the weekend and had more of the same. We crushed it with crappies to 14", bass to 20", and some bonus pike.
