Jumped on with Cap’n ScowardNJ today to do some jigging. It was a balmy day with the air temp hovering around 31 degrees and a refreshing NW wind blowing 5-15 mph or so. I haven’t been to this lake in a long time. I pretty sure it missed me because I was gifted a 25.5 inch Donkey on the first cast of the day. Big fat female, big head, huge tail and all shoulders absolutely demolished my blade bait on top of an underwater mountain. Fish fought well and stayed down deep for a while. I was very pleased when Scott netted this fish. Totally stoked as this fish is a PB for me on this body of water. Hell yassssss!
We continued to pick a fish here and there but last nights cold front had em’ acting a little weird. Most fish were just laying on the baits and the fish we found were on the smaller side. We wound up getting some keeper Walleye throughout the day with some short action here and there. Had some Whitey’s and Yellow’s in the mix as well. Overall it was a good day on the lake! We didn’t expect much after the cold front blasted through last night but we were able to make some fish commit.
It’s big girl season guys. I don’t know what your doing but I highly recommend you put your big boy pants on, your warm clothes and go buy some hand warmers. The big fish will feed heavy til the coming New Year!
TIGHT LINEZ!!!
