Sunday hopping around Report
A buddy and I decided to meet up and kayak fish in this beautiful day in NJ. We met up at Merrill Creek at 10am, but got there and found out there was a tournament going on, parking lot was full of boat trailers, so we called an audible and headed to Mountain Lake. Quite a difference, almost nobody was there. We fished it hard from 11 until about 2:30 and came up pretty short. One bluegill for me, one rock bass for him.
Made moves once again and after fueling up at Cryans I hopped in my friends canoe and we took on the crowd at RVR. Tons of people out today, who can blame them though? Despite the crowds we had a few nice drifts along the banks and picked away at smallies, Rock bass, and one nice largie my friend caught. Each of us had 5 or so fish in about 2 and a half hours on the valley. Truthfully, I haven’t done that well at the valley in a long time and it changed my perception of it a bit.
Today was definitely a grind but it paid off in the end. Tight lines all!
