Default Early Spring Bass

We hit the Musky River in and around the area of Tilcon Sunday around noon. The water was clear and moving fast and no real signs of life yet. We tried and tried and tried to paddle upstream but we couldn’t really get to our destination because of the surging water. We packed up the Yaks and moved to plan B. Head on up to the Aeroflex area and hit one of the lakes. Fished in about 5 to 6 feet of water right at the weedline. I landed this nice bass on a small crappie jig and a Keitech Spider grub in silver and blue glitter. Called JP over to the area since it was the only action we got in about 3 hours. Shockingly he landed a Bass on a traditional double bladed spinbait in red. I guess the Bass are starting to get hungry. Hoping for some better weather the next few weeks to jump start the spring bite.
