Kinda late but, figured I'd post it up anyway. The Tuesday before Christmas I was off and decide the shopping could wait. Took a trip out to harass some trout and wasn't disappointed. Air temps were high 40s, not sure about the water. Started out throwing plugs and ran into another fisherman. Told me he hadn't had a bump in an hour.
Made my way downstream from the pressure

changing plugs every 15-20 casts for size, color, action, etc. Nada....... Decide to throw on the old trusty silver inline and within 5 casts was hooked up. Stayed with it and landed a good dozen or so browns in the next hour or two.
Last big pool I hit I came up empty with the spinner. Tied my go to plug back on and landed and nice brown on the next cast. Tried put another new plug and landed another!! Called it a day after that but can't be mad about landing 14 browns and 1 bow in late December in almost 50 degree weather!! No monstahs that day but they were thick and jumping! Plus, it was cool to have my first and last trip of 2017 at the same spot and have some good action!!
