Default North Raritan Report

These parts of the Raritan, North Branch and such, have been very giving to me. Unlike the main stem has been mixed in results; typically bigger fish bit less action.

So good I got my not-so-skillful-angler friend to finally get his first bass, a smallie. Then his next fish is his first largie.

I should have taken more pics from that day, I'll tell yea that section of the north branch was full of bass that size. It was a hike to hit the good spots but worth it.

Today I hit my usual spot, gotta tend to my smallies and see if they're healthy. I'd say the youngsters are growing fast! Rock bass are less common for some reason, caught only two today while earlier in season I'd get more rockies than smallies. Finally got a largie at the last spot I hit.

Here's the pics. Found this big ol frog before I even wet a line.

The smaller the river, the easier it seems to get quantity out of it.

Lures used: started with mini floating rapala, hooks were going everywhere on fish so turned to marabou jigs.
