Haven't had time to post recently but have been fishing a bit. Last 2 weeks I managed a couple trips. First was a trip back to my bass harassin spot with pops. Carried the boat and gear in half the time it took me solo. Found some decent bass action but no lunkers. Catch of the day was an unusual catfish I battled. Had drag peeling and at one point got me wrapped around a stump. Literally had to motor 360 degrees back around the stump to get it loose. When I finally landed it I noticed the fish was jet black from snout to tail. Even the inside of his mouth was black. Never saw one like that, pretty cool!!
Next trip was an evening trip to the walleye grounds. On the water around 5 and by 6 it started raining and got consistently heavier the next 2 hours. Managed 2 eyes, (one on the troll back the launch in a full on downpour) and couple smallies. We left soaked but happy.
Yesterday I spent morning on a shed resi. Started out breezy but it calmed down as the day went on. Had sunny skies and fall like temps. First fish of the day was a 17" white perch! My first out that lake and a PB to boot. Followed that up with some nice bronze. At one point I was running a crank bait along a downed log and thought I got snagged. That is until the snag started swimming!! After a quick fight, a nice 21" bucketmouth hit the net. Definitely not a bad way to end the day!!!!
