Well after trying to get out on Monday i decided to give it another go today. Got down to the boat nice and early and got my spot. I tied one of my rods with my normal jigging set up and the other one i had i set up to drag bait. We head out and Ron had said that bait was working better then jigging but me being hard headed i went right to the jig. I started trying different colors and all that then moved on to tipping the Gulp with spearing. Well that did the trick. 2nd or 3rd drift i got slammed and Joe was in the back so Ron ran down and netted my first keeper of 2017! You really needed to have that meat on the hook for them to even think of hitting your jig. And you had one shot at em if you missed they didnt come back and without the spearing not a touch. We move around and and try different areas and i got about 8 shorts. I missed a few and dropped a nice one that i got 2 cranks off the bottom but couldnt keep em on the line. Then i decided that hell i rigged up the other rod for bait. I might as well at least give it a try since it was getting late in the day. Mind you i have not dragged bait in over 4 years! So i put down the jig and grabbed my rod. Threw a 6oz sinker on and some bait. Dropped down.... BAMMM.. I get hammered!! Nice fish which ended up being the pool fish!!

Got another short on just the bait set up and then it was time to head in. Note to self.... Listen to Capt!

But good day in my book!
Capt Ron gave it 110% as always. Joe was spot on! Just want to say thank you for the good day on the water.
