great day off with the crappies!!!!
took a mental health day yesterday{like one day would help} and hit the big lake early.started at 6:30am at the south end.first cast i hook up with a nice 13"
crappie and it stayed that way until 7:45 when i hear this lowed motor start
up.sure enough its a small dredging machine and they start dredging right next to me.it killed the bite but i had 6 nice crappie between 13 and 14-1/2 inches. i
picked up and headed to spot #2.nothing for the first 15 minutes than i hook and drop a fish.next cast its game on and it all ya want crappies.let most go only keeping 2 bringing my total to 8 fish.with most of the fish on the small side i
decide to hit spot #3.i cast the bobber & jig out and as soon as it hits the water
its game on again.it was cast and reel with a nice mix of gills, golden tarpon, perch and crappie.i managed two more good ones and was limited out with 10 nice crappie from 12-3/4" to 14-1/2" but 10am.i head home and clean the fish up and have some lunch.with the fishing being so good i call my daughter in law and ask if she and my grand daughter would like to go up the lake fishing.she said yes and we were back up there at 1:30.my daughter in law just started the sweet water stuff and was very eager to get started.we
fished for twenty minutes with only 2 gills.all of the sudden she hooks up with a good crappie and it was good fishing till we left.i took some bread with me so my grand daughter could feed the ducks.she thought is was the funniest thing in the world.she didn't care to much for the fishing but watching her laugh and smile at those ducts was priceless.we played catch and release
for 2 hours and they had a ball.
