Default Round Valley newbie.

I'm looking to start fishing Round Valley from shore. I'm not looking for any spots or "secrets" but I want to buy some tackle and such. I've been a river trout angler for years so all my gear is geared toward such. The longest trout rod I have is a 7' UL loomis IMX spooled with 4lb mono so I'm thinking that will be fine. If not please let me know. What weight spinners are most effective. I have a feeling my 1/24 and 1/16 will be too light. Same with my little rapalas and yo zuri's. I'm assuming bait is going to be my best bet now. I've read slip sinkers with powerbait on the bottom and shiners on slip floats. Any info/help would be much appreciated.
