Default Lost a tide runner tonight :(

Been kicking ass with live baits the last two weeks, so decided to hit a local jetty tonight with a few live mullet to see if there were any takers. I set up my balloon rig and tossed out a frisky mullet and got a nice natural drift going 10 yards off the rocks. About 45min into the outting my reel starts screaming, set the hook and began an epic 15min fight on my light action terez waxwing rod and shimano bait runner... When I got the fish to the rocks I turned my light on and saw to my surprise the biggest weakfish I've ever seen, thing had to of been pushing at least 32", he got one good look at me and made a run and pop goes the weasle, pulled the hook. It was incredible to see a weakfish of that size after over a decade of catching nothing bigger then 2lbs. Can't express how important corkers and manuvarable clothing is when fishing the rocks at night, almost ate sh!t a few times just moving around, that was all the action for the night, but great night to be out none the less. Very healthy mullet population in the back bays have me excited for what's in store during the next two months along the beaches and inlets.
