Went on a recon mission today looking for some daytime action. Beautiful, picture perfect day with low humidity to start. Went for my good friend Mr Whiskers bright and early. Managed to land 3 small Channels 3-5 lbs. Fun time till the Eels starting ripping the baits to shreds.
Left that spot to go play on a smaller Trout Crick. Good payoff there with steady action. Lots of life in NJ's rivers right now with abundant bait and predators roaming around. The usual suspects were in the smaller Crick, Rockies, Smallies, LM, Gills and of course the almighty Brown Trout. It's a shame they don't stock these beautiful fish anymore. Maybe one day they'll be back at it hopefully. I can't seem to get away from these fish this year. That would be a good thing. Went 4-6 doing the old TWITCH, TWITCH, BANG, BANG and then BOOM the Browns were there and they were pissed off. Very acrobatic today as the water temp must of been just right with the rains we had. Heres a few pics from todays action.
Biggest Channel 5 lbs.............
Silly Brown Trout, biggest 1 measured 16 inches. The other 3 were all 10-12 inchers..........
