Hit the back end at dawn with no love in the pads.
made a switch to the fly rod med-morning and blue-gills on nearly every cast on the productive spots. Must have caught everyone on each spot before making the move. Found a school of crappie and landed at least 50 with most only going ~5-6 inches, but a fish on every cast is hard to beat. Worked the pads in the back of the lake and got a really nice ~3 lb LMB with a nice audeince that witnessed the event from shore ..then nothing.
Found a honey hole with bluegills on the fly on every cast for ~ 1 hour...think I caught the whole school as the bite ended. ended up catching a few more small crappie at the place I got them originally and then called it a day at noon.
CATCHING not just fishing.!
