![]() Hit the little pond with Chrisper and JDTuna last night. Figured with the "stretch" of more stable weather the bite might be hot.
Got out on the lake to near perfect conditions. Light breeze and a near full moon already starting to illuminate the lake. ![]() We pull up on the spot and had bait already splashing around. ![]() On Chrisper's first cast he hooks into a nice fish and lands this chunky larry. ![]() ![]() Was it a glimpse of more to come or the dreaded first cast fish jinx? Bait continued to splash all around and we were marking fish but no big splashes or hits for an hour and half. Working down the bank JDTuna had a follower to the boat but wouldn't commit. Further down JD points out a spot where he got lucky last week. We ease on over and he hooks into the first eye of the night. ![]() Some scary monster jumped on the back of the boat just as pictures were being taken. ![]() The bait stopped splashing so we decided to make a move. Pulled into my favorite cove and within 20 minutes JD gets into this beautiful 22" walleye. ![]() Chrisper and I had enough of watching JD having all the fun and tied on the closest lures we had to what JD was throwing. We work about another 200' and I get a monster hit. This fish was heavy and I couldn't move it. I was thinking hybrid. I get it near the boat and the designated net man Chrisper dives at the fish with the net. My new PB Walleye at 25 3/4"!!!!! ![]() Called it a night around 1:30 after JD lost the magic lure 40' up in a oak tree. Slow night but I count it as a win. Can't wait to get back after it.
