Despite growing up in New Jersey, I had never ice fished before, spending my winters chasing cod, seabass and blackfish. Thankfully, this January Chrisper convinced me to give it a shot. Took my first ice trip on January 24 and caught a pike and was hooked from there. My season was short and in a handful of trips I caught pike, pickerel, perch, sunfish and musky. While every fish was a blast to catch, the highlight of my ice season was a nice musky through the ice while fishing solo. Can't wait for next year!
