Default South Branch smallies and a nice bow!

So I had a chance to get out for a few days and hit my usual spots on the South Branch. First stop was the Clinton area. A little slow at first, but after moving to a new spot it was one bronze after another. Nothing too big, but I could catch river smallies all day. Seemed like every third cast I hooked up. I was a little surprised that I wasn't catching any trout. So I did my usual, "ok, one more cast and I'll leave" and so on and so on....Well 50 casts later I hooked up with what I assumed was another smallie. Right away I could tell it was much bigger then the others and was pleasantly surprised with a very nice breeder bow. Didn't measure, but must have gone at least 18" or 19". Quick CPR and she was off.

Next day hit South Branch around the Flemington area. Only had about 45 minutes to kill and it paid off. Lots of bronze to be had, but much bigger then the Clinton area. All CPR to be caught another day.

Caught everything on Joe's Flies and gold Phoebe.
