Rahway River - Early Morning Dog Walkin/Bassin'

Since my local ponds in the Cranford area are all but dried up and haven't been giving me much love anyway I have been focusing my efforts recently on the Rahway River. The fact that Its only about 3 blocks from my house (in three different directions) also adds to the draw.

Recently I have been taking my pole with me when I walk my dog in the morning, there is a nice wooded area nearby that I can let him off his leash and fish for 15 minutes or so while he wanders nearby. I Caught the two LMB pictured below this morning in about ten minutes and have had similar success at this spot (also pictured below - any Cranford/Kenilworth locals recognize...?) my past three outings.

They might not be the biggest fish but it sure was a great way to start my Tuesday. I just hope my wife never discovers my posts on this board or I will cease to get credit for the 'chore' of walking our pooch every morning at 6:30 am....
