Talking Leonardo fluke masters tournament 1st place finish - Johnny Bucktails

Let me first start off with saying thank you to everyone involved in running the tournament. It is a great tournament to be a part of and it is always a lot of fun. On board for the trip was Dennis, Bob, Mario, the lip, and yours truly. I took the boys back to where we have been pulling up some nice fish and right off the bat Mario landed an 7 pound fish. I told the boys we needed four more just like that. We picked away at the keepers and managed to land three more five to six pound fish throughout the day. There was about an hour or so left in the tournament and i knew that we needed that ONE MORE big fish to come over the rail if we wanted to be in good shape. At this point we had terrible conditions where we had caught most of the fish throughout the day and i knew we needed to make a move with time running out. New spot, new drift. First drift nada. Second drift, nada. Third times a charm, Bobby locks up to a pig and it starts taking drag. The master angler took his time and finessed it all the way up and into the net. It was just what we needed, a beautiful 7-8 pound fish. Put her in the box, made a few more drifts, and took off to the scales. Knew we had a good shot at taking it all. Weighed in our five fish at 27.56 lb and were in first place but there were a few more boats that still had to be weighed in. We were just outside Keyport when we heard over the radio that our weight held for first place !! An awesome day that i will never forget with a great crew. Thank you once again to the tournament directors and congratulations to everyone else who placed. The new Sea Hunter is off to a great start. TEAM DOWN DEEP
