Default Night Cap

Been hitting my local stomping grounds pretty regularly lately on the UL. Tons of fun catching supersized pan fish species. Bug Jigs tipped with a super meal worm along the shoreline is the key.

Went out for a bit last night and was getting no love! Put the UL away as night fell and got out the good old Ugly Stick and head lamp. Tried everything! Crank bait, rattle trap, gulp minnow, grub, NOTHING! Switch to a black with red fleck tube jig. Drop her down. AAANNNDDD ZIP! Feeling discouraged I see a headless eel on the ground. Normally I kick stuff like that back in so others can eat. I nudge it and to my surprise it is fairly fresh. DING! I bend down, hook it on the tube as a trailer. Total length of my jig/eel combo was close to 8"-10". Drop it back into the turbulent water. something grabs it. Swing and a miss. Bring it up and teeth marks all over it. Drop it back down, bounce it a few times, and BOOM! Rod bends over and its game on!

Normally I practice CPR but I have never had walleye nuggets So I apologize.

Props to the family leaving that took the pic for me!
