After living 20 years in Fayson Lakes, which was a bass fishing paradise until the big bass die off two summers ago, I moved in late March to Lindy's Lake in West Milford.
Between the divorce and logistics of moving much of the contents from a 2,800 sq ft home into a 700 sq ft log cabin (a whole 'nother non fishing story) I haven't done much fishing this year.
Today I took my new solo canoe for my first spin on Lindy's. Knowing nothing at all about this lake, I hit the "fishy" looking spots and was soon into a bass that fought so hard I thought I had a 4 pounder on. I was surprised to land a bass that went about two and a half. Twenty minutes later I was into a bass that was towing my canoe around like a toy. I thought I had a monster bass, but it was only about 3 lbs. Not bad for about an hour of fishing. The fish here seem to have "shoulders". I caught 4-5 lb bass in Fayson that didn't fight so hard.
Lindy's is about 1/4 the size of each of the two Fayson Lakes I fished frequently, but I think I'm going to like fishing here.
