Default Keyport Seahawk - Magic Carpet Ride

After checking out front for a long shot at seeing some bass we came back in and tried for some fluke. First spot was a dud with just a sea robin. On the way to the next spot I said to John "I want a monster fluke this year..."if i get an 8+ pounder i'm releasing it" he said "how about 10lbs?" I said "8 is where i'm drawing the line" we laughed...(you can't make this up...) I took one of my homemade sea robin bucktails and on the very first drop as it hit the bottom it got whacked i immediately set the hook into my personal best 8.5lbs fluke!

after a few pics, john opens the cooler...i say "dude i have to release it or we'll be cursed!". He tried to plead his case, but also not wanting to be cursed he gave in and i flopped that magic carpet back into the water!

Needless to say we caught 1 more fluke each, both of which could've been used as insoles for a child's shoe haha. Hey, the way i see it, if more of us released a few big fish now and then we could catch some more bigger fish in years to come! RELEASE A BIG FLUKE REVOLUTION!!!

We switched to bluefishing for the second half of our day but that was slow in our spot with a decent fish now and then for a total of 11 (all great fighters though as usual). John had the biggest at 32".
