Default knots

you know what bothers me...the fact that there are so many knots...shouldn't there be a 'the strongest' knot for every category and line type? light line tight to hook/lure, heavy line tight to hook/lure, line to line connection, loose line connection (loop), snell etc.

I'll usually use a tight line connection to lures and hooks unless it's a fly or a crank bait without a split ring on the front and i've been using the palomar if the lure or hook is not too big or a double wrap improved clinch knot (idk what it's called, fish n' fool maybe?)

i got these knots from looking at knot wars where they test them with a machine, but then i see larry dahlberg has his own machine and tested a different knot as the strongest...double wrap nail knot or something...i just want the strongest knot!
