Hit an inlet on the back bay today with the kid and my brother in law and niece....went with the usual snapper poppers and spearing, and wasn't having much luck...my bro in law throws out a swing impact on a lead head, trying to drag for fluke and was getting hit after hit....we all switched over to soft plastics, and it was game on....the snappers didn't want much of anything to do with spearing or kastmasters or diamond jigs, but were nailing anything soft with a little flash...never saw that before...but anyways....while trying to stay deep for the snappers and maybe fluke, we had a couple nice surprise visits from the guy in the striped suit.....small little rats, but got my kid to reel in his first striper....the snappers were nuts, hitting even pieces of finesse lures left on after the tails got bit, all out blitz for a little bit, but only on the soft plastics, nothing on metal or spearing...couple pics below...
dad hooked him, but the bubbster finished him off

and a doubleheader
