Started vacation on Monday this week but the jboat was temporarily out of commission so I walked to a spot I havnt been to in a while. Picked up some bait on the way so I wouldn't loose a small fortune in the swift rocky current. Had some steady action all morning with 1-2# smallies. Catch of the day was a skinny 18"er.
Best part was I got a 2 for 1 deal on sizeable shiners from my bud at the b&t shop. Only prob was they weren't lasting even with constant water changes. Kept throwing the floaters in at spot #1. When I went to spot #2 justdown stream, I caught a small, FAT, smallie. And, a channel that looked like it ate a baseball, lol.
Def not river monsters, but throw in some A+ weather, and a six point buck feeding 30ft away, I had a blast!
