17" Slab-O-Saurus!!

Hit the slab spot yesterday morning lookin for a couple to bring home for a bbq. Scooped up pops and hit the water early. First half hour was slow but turned around quickly. First 2 fish were decent Larry's around 2#. Funny it's the first time we were disappointed to catch bass instead of crappy, lol. Then we found em.

Caught about ten total. Kept 6 between 10-13". At one point I hooked a thick 14" and decided it was too big to keep and released it. Not long after, dad hooks up and I see his rod bent in half. Thought it was another bass until he got it in the net. 17" super slab!! Biggest I've ever seen even on TV, lol. Quick measure but no weight and back she went to pass on some good genetics, lol. Came home and looked it up and the state record is 18".....
