Paramount 7/31 Combo Trip

What a way to start off the day I left my sandwich at home as well as my cell phone. I thought wow this going to be one of those days NOT. I got to the boat about 6 AM I went to the back casting some clams looking for some fluke. To my surprise my first cast I get a nice runoff a nice 20" Striper. Next cast another pickup missed that one re bait another cast another fish this one was much nicer 24". Last cast another pickup but the boat was moving out as I tried to set the hook to no avail. So on to the fishing we set up on some offshore grounds to a nice steady pick of Sea Bass I got my limit by 8 AM all nice sized Sea Bass keepers on that drop. The Next drop I noticed somebody next to me stuck on a piece. I moved right into the sticky piece looking for another Sea Bass. Right as the line got tight I felt that beautiful bump that I love so much. I laid back & let it chew set the hook to a nice slam. The fish put up a nice fight a nice 18" Blackfish that wound up being the pool winner. We made several drops after that picking away at the ling I wound up with 20 Ling plus a Sea Raven plus I got 2 more Keeper Sea Bass that I did not keep being I reach my limit. There were a few Flounders caught today & high hook today was 35 Ling & a few Sea Bass. Everybody on board today went home with a nice bag of filets. I left the dock & the mate was still fileting fish & everybody went home happy today. Next time maybe I should leave my phone at home with my food.
