Decided to open the flood gates to the NJ.com boys to a day on the water for the elusive FLUKE on my floating investment. Got a team together of Reef Squatter, Honger, and Chef Sam. We left SR around 6:15, hit the grounds by 7am. Fan was still on from the past day, 1.5-1.7kt. Tried some offshore snags and Ki got a nice 4.5lb-er. We mow-zeeed thru the shorts and got bumped around for 3 or so hours with not much. Made the move inshore to some more snags, and found some fluke chewing. Bob and Sam got there contenders, and Ki was picking away. But as a quietly dropped down and the line approached the boat...a bit of a tug, then tugg tugg, SET, and it was game on. Got the pelagic to the surface and onto the scales. It was a nice 6lb-er and the BIG one of the day. Awesome time out there with the guys, fish were chewing today.
Thanks to all that responded and those that couldn't make it, there will be more days ahead. Bob, Ki, and Sam.....great time and enjoyed fishing with you all.
Got mine on the top teaser. pink & white gulp grub. I think Ki was using the same.
