Thumbs up Post-Spawn Bass Beatdown 5-31-14

I was in the mood to check out some new water today, and I decided on Lake Manalapan. I had only found it last week by coincidence when I drove past it to get to a job site. I knew absolutely nothing about it, and when I got there I found shallow water with no weeds, high sun, strong gusting winds, and copious amounts of goose poop. My expectations plummeted, but on my first cast with a spider jig, I got smacked by a largemouth before I could even start reeling. I was quickly able to dial in a post-spawn pattern, and proceeded to catch over a dozen bass up to 3.5 lbs, and drop six or seven as well.

But I won't be around at all, so don't even bother to call,
Cause on a day like today there's one place I gotta be:
