Out by myself yesterday morning till noon (couldn't convince anyone else to pass on work
).
I spent the first two hours hunting for bunker (live lining and chum for shark season). I must need glasses because I keep hearing everyone is netting them and I have yet to see a single tail flip. I searched all over AH and that area, nothing!
I even went back towards Red Bank, but got antsy and turned around before the Oceanic bridge. Didn't see a single one.
Anyway, got on the troll around Sandy Hook rip and the blues (big ones too, largest was 16lb) were stacked thick as thieves and just destroying the gear. Landed 13 blues in 1 hour (emergency shark bait, CHECK!) Didn't see any bunker there either.
Ran to the back of the bay, trolled up 3 keeper bass (kept one 28" non female for the table) and landed quite a few small blues in the back as well, 3-5lb.
Was a nice day on the water, love to see fog in the morning, real fisherman weather.
