I would suggest, looking long term, an App that users could chose private or public on their posts. Also, if there was a check in feature where you could see who is on what charter/party boat, etc that would be cool.

Fishbook like Facebook.

IMO the www boards should stay public with user registering as you do unless user controls could be added.
