I got out onto the ice in November for the first time in 5 years today. It wasn't in NJ but it wasn't too far away either. There were areas of gray ice that were 4" and fresh black ice that was 2" in the morning and 2.5-2.75" by the time I left. I landed 3 pike all in the same hour around 1:30-2:30 in the afternoon. The two smaller ones were around 28" and took 8-10" smelt and the bigger one was 31" and a fat 9lbs took a 10" dead sucker, 5-7' of water. No monsters but not a bad start to the season. I can't wait to get out in Jersey!
31" 9lbs
1st of the season!
